Happy early Birthday to meeee… It’s great to find gift cards from eons ago and spend them on things you actually enjoy. Right?! Right! Sweeeet! So I did. This was one of a few pretties, and a lot of samples, I received from a Sephora stalking session and deciding I was going to spend my gifties. There are more amazing pictures after the break…
I’m sorry I’m posting this so late- this past week has been all sorts of chaotic and NUTS… I didn’t forget!
Keep an eye out- there will be a St. Patrick’s Day Giveaway coming soon!

Most people believe blue eyed persons cannot pull off a blue-shadowed look.
Well, let me just simply dispel that myth right here and now, thank you very much!
As you can see, I do have very light blue eyes. There is a dark ring of navy blue around the outline of my iris, and if you look close enough around my pupil, you’ll see there’s a natural violet color there as well. Depending on what I wear for clothing and makeup, I can change my eyes to look anything ranging from grey, to aqua, to violet. Oh the wonder of makeup!
And here’s coming atcha with another quick and easy, no muss no fuss look thanks to the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows. It’s no secret I like the long-lasting wear of these shadows, and they’re also a great base to build upon with shadows as well. This particular look I used them just alone…
My Mom made gorgeous earrings two years ago and gave them to us girls as presents. I sported them for a while, but then restyled the earwires because the originals hurt my ears. So I have little, petite ones for my ears. Anywho- I decided I wanted to use as many Star Crushed Minerals colors on my eyes as possible. My inspiration was the flashes of different colors my earrings caught in the light. I piled them on, and this is the result!
Well, I decided for the first time the other day to spend 30 minutes and do my nails. I misjudged, and it actually took me closer to an hour. Still, it was “me” time after the Lil’ Monster had gone to bed, and I was rather irritated my initial idea didn’t work out like I had hoped.
Basically, I wanted to do a “peek-a-boo” effect, but the white polish you see is a Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, and far too thick and goopy to attempt. Luckily, I only ruined two nails before I decided to re-do everything. Now I’m by no means a nail pro- at all- I just like to paint them for fun. I also wanted to get to bed at a decent hour, so that’s where this kind of inspired me. I figured since I had the white, and I didn’t want a strictly glittery look…. I could attempt some sort of wispy nail designs.
I really adored this look. I’ve had to keep it simple most days because I don’t have a bunch of time to devote to complicated looks- although the goal is to work toward getting back there! I used two colors from Dark Heart Deisgn’s Just Keep Swimming Collection to make a custom blue-purple color, and I really like how the blurple ended up. To keep it balanced, I did a light sweep of color over my lid and kept my lips pretty much naked.
I have to admit- I seriously love rocking out a gradient brow now. Especially with bold colors. It’s so… Unexpected. Especially in my neck of the (literal) woods. Safe to say, don’t care!
Can you believe that the entire smokey eye look is only two colors?
Yep. Seriously, cross my heart, hope to die. My brows are from Fergie’s Wet ‘n Wild Maldives Sky Palette. Rock on babes!
I’ve been a traditional girl in the polish department and taking care of my nails, but last week I was stopped short when I noticed glistening little baubles of sparkling goodness in the nail aisle. Then I noticed it was in a very small package. Then realized it was polish strips.
I don’t know why I’ve held off so long to try these- probably the fear that no matter what, I’d screw them up and get lumps and bumps everywhere. Or the strips would go on crooked. Or once applied, they’d peel right up. Well, suffice it to say I couldn’t resist the temptation to pick these little goodies up and literally get them on my tips. They’re Fing’rs Nail Makeup polish strips in Let’s Celebrate 32791. Gorgeous, aren’t they?!
As promised- I said I’d finally post the giveaway you’ve all patiently been waiting (and waiting… and waiting… and waiting……) for…. Now I have it together and ready to go for you! It’s been an insanely busy time for me over the past few years (but giving me good time to collect quite a stash and replacing makeup items so they’re newer!) but what better way to kick off 2014 by offering you lovelies a chance to win some awesome items?!
Procrastinator I am!
I’ve been sitting on these beauties for months, like other things I’ve received and haven’t yet posted about because it’s been so chaotic around here these days! Now that the major holidays are over and I can sit down and breathe- expect more from me! Anywho- I’ll get right to it. Tina from Dark Heart Designs popped a package in the mail for me to play with- so all these colors are now in my little paws. I ended up receiving the very special “Just Keep Swimming” Collection inspired by Talia Castellano, as well as two lovely blues and a pretty pink-blush duochrome.
First off, I’ll say I hate how these photos came out. I was experimenting with different settings on my camera, and failed to actually take back-ups with flash. They would have come out better than this grainy mess!
However- while I intend to recreate this look, I still loved it all the same. So here’s the photos.
I love color- you all know this. However, since becoming a Mom, I find it increasingly difficult to make time and execute carefully planned, outrageous makeup… Or even just fun, colorful eyes. My Lil’ Monster keeps me so busy that I literally have just a few minutes to throw on enough makeup to make me look not dead…
So here’s my 5 minute, get me out the door looking human makeup.
