Summer’s finally making it’s way, slowly, to New England. This far up in the mountains, people think it stays cold all the time. Let me debunk that myth for you- it doesn’t!!! Sure, we get pretty hot- but what I like best about it is the fact that we don’t get the oppressive humidity like further south tends to do… And honestly, I have no idea how you folks can put up with it. When I’m stuck in humidity that you can cut with a butterknife and watch water pour out… It’s too much. I feel like the Wicked Witch of the West, and pretty much just want to scream “I’m melllllting, melllllllllting!”

Up here… I don’t have to. The mountains are breezy. Sure, we have humid days- but they’re not every single day. And while many of you right now are dealing with oppressive temperatures and humidity… We’re just starting to ease into summer. The nights are still cool enough for a sweatshirt, but the days (when they haven’t been rainy) are sunny, warm, and the perfect temperature in the mid 70′s. And these kinds of nights are great to go out back, light up the firepit, and relax listening to the sounds of the woods. Just as long as the coyotes stay away from me, I’m good.

And that’s pretty much it! A fairly easy look, wouldn’t you agree? This was my second attempt at using Pixie Epoxy, and I have to say… It indeed is the amazing stuff it’s said to be! It does take a bit more shadow when you apply it over PE than just primer, but the result is an intense, bright “pop” of a look. The shadows look foiled- without having to wet your brushes! How sweet is that?!

It definitely depends on what tone of orange you choose, and how much of it goes on your face. I think we all agree that Wendi just knocks it out of the park with this look… Right?? Right?? YES!

As a side note, I’m wearing one of my favorite necklaces. I got it from Pole Star Jewelry on Etsy, and it’s my birthstone- Amethyst. It’s small, delicate, and oxidized. I have a thing for oxidized jewelry… So that was my birthday present to myself last year!

P.S.- Oh yeah… Please don’t mind all the cat hair stuck to my shirt. Shortly before I snapped these pictures, I attempted to get Little Dude into a cone because he keeps opening up a scrape on his back, near his tail. It’s because he loves to chase annoy his Mama, Peeps, and she chases him back… And bats his ass with claws. Well- I guess he had one too many claw attacks- he licked a spot bald and it’s got a nice big sore there. So- back to head cone. Little Dude is skittish, and he’s never been on a collar, nevermind a leash. I got the cone and collar on him with Dad’s help- but Dad let him go too soon. I didn’t get him leashed… So off he bounded, running like a spaz and unable to get into the small places he was trying to go hide. He did not like this at all. He tried to run under a desk, cone stopped him. Tried to go into his favorite box, cone stopped him. Tried to then run to the hearth and jump up to get upstairs- but each time he tried to jump, the cone hit the brickwork and stopped him in his tracks. Off to the races, through the kitchen, around the bar twice… Past his Dad Hobbes… He literally was scrubbing the floor, trying to get traction- and couldn’t! Spent a few moments running in place…

At this point, Dad and I figure if we step in front of him, he’s going to try and go up us, so we stood back to wait and see what he’d do next. Well, folks… We nearly peed ourselves laughing. I felt awful because my cat was so scared, and he was running holy hell across our living room, kitchen and then… Into the dining room. Well, it’s not really a dining room… It’s being used as a storage room right now until we go through the boxes. So, he somehow made it over the sneakers, and into the room where I couldn’t go get him. Dad and I were doubled over laughing so hard we were crying- the only way we could tell where Little Dude was in the dining room was the stacks of boxes which would sway as he ran into them! It was like… Holy cow, we’ve got a Tasmanian devil on our hands! We literally had tears streaming down our face- it’s amazing I didn’t ruin my look… But holy heck, if I had caught that on tape, I’d surely be a YouTube sensation right now. And by the way- Little Dude managed to flop on his back, use his front and back paws, and flicked the cone off, and then summarily ran upstairs to hide under my bed. He loves me, don’t get me wrong… But that day… He hated me!!!! It’s all good now. I gave him 4 treats, and in 10 minutes he was purring like a generator- he’s that loud. <3
