Hello everyone!
I’m alive, well, and have been spending a lot of QT with my Pirate over this past week. I’m having a wonderful time, and I really don’t want it to end, though I do go “home” tomorrow. Here is home, there is home… I have quite a few of them. My favorite, though, is with him. I know- I’m all sappy. Yay! I feel so… So… Domesticated! I have a habit of rearranging things, cleaning, reorganizing… Yeah. Pirate’s cabinets have been switch-a-rooed, food has been put together in similar groupings, I’ve hidden and moved utensils… And it’s just generally been fun! Hahaha! We did manage to survive Irene- you know- that huge hurricane that wreaked havoc up the East Coast this past weekend. I hope all of my friends south of me are alright, and you’re all in my thoughts. I’m glad she wasn’t as bad as predicted, but still… A storm like that doesn’t happen very often. We lost power for a while here, but nothing we couldn’t handle. We had bottled water, beef jerky, called for Chinese Take-Out (yes, we certainly made someone else drive out on Sunday! It was ALL Pirate’s idea!), I had my Pretzel M&M’s…. So that’s being well prepared in my book. Otherwise, there’s some pretty bad flooding around the state, but nothing really that’s much around here. We’re just waiting for the water to crest- which it should do in the next few days.
I thought I’d have accomplished a lot more done over this past week being here, and being up while Pirate’s at work… But to tell the truth, I’ve been so blah about everything, I veg and listen to music and just do stuff around the house. Laundry, dishes, clean… A little at a time since I don’t want to overdo it with my back. Then when he comes home, late of course because he works the closing shift, I stay up with him for a bit to help him decompress, relax, and get into sleepy-time mode. So yeah- late nights, lazy days… I’ve been (almost) absolutely useless! Well.. Not absolutely. He says I keep a clean house, and I’ve organized things well… That must mean I’m doing something right… right?! To my dear, who I’m sure will read this because you get to see this makeup when you come home tonight (sheesh, I just love the sound of that!) I hope you don’t mind my neurotic cleaning and organizing. It really is a compulsion sometimes! Then again, I know how much you love clean, folded laundry too! Tee-hee-hee…
Oh, and in all this… I have a new friend. He’s Pirate’s “other” girl, and she’s a sweetheart. I don’t mind that she’s around since she’s such a doll. She follows me around, mouthing off at me quite often. She’s definitely a Daddy’s girl, but is quickly warming up to me- if she doesn’t have enough attention, she sure lets me know… Loudly! Today, whilst doing my makeup, she decided it would be fun to play with one of my super-secret colors from a company I’ve been lucky enough to be able to “test”. I had just done the initial application when I had to take a phone call, so I literally stepped out of the room for three seconds. *clink* Alas, that was the sound of the pretty blue color being batted off the table, and onto the floor. All my pretty color- the first victim of a mishap in my entire collection, all over the floor. I had an immediate sad- but luckily, was able to clean up and save the majority of my shadow! YAY! Miss Mackenzie was aware she did something wrong… She summarily hopped into my chair like “Uh-ooohhhhhh….” then turned onto her back, and offered me her belly. I very, very carefully gave her some rubs, since she thought I’d be angry at her. I was upset, and I shooed her away at first… But she’s such a lovely kitty, I couldn’t resist. And yes- this look is utilized using said shadows. So if you love this look, and you want to get ahold of these freaking amazing shadows… Leave a comment below! So as for what’s on my face… It’s the regular ingredients list. As far as the shadows on my eyes, I’m not telling you what colors I’ve used (since they’re unnamed) and the company will remain nameless for the time being, unless she leaves a comment!
On my eyes I primed with My Beauty Addiction’s Shadow-Poxy eye primer, Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk and Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy. These shadows, once I get the go-ahead to show them, are a bit chunkier and more of a coarse consistency than regular mineral eye shadows. This is due to the fact there’s a few more ingredients in the composition of this new formula, hence the difference compared to typical mineral shadows. I’m not disclosing anything further than that of course!
Color descriptions:
A shimmering, glittery shadow with just a hint of lavender. This is the highlight color on the inner 1/3 of my eyes, and it looks positively amazing over PE, don’t you agree? All these colors do!
A light, delicate pastel blue is on the middle portion of my lid area- it’s difficult to tell that there is a dusky and darker blue on the outer 1/3 of my lid. It’s there- they just blend into each other so well they don’t seem like they’re two different colors. They are- and each are unique! (errrr… The actual reason is I accidentally put the colors on the way I wanted to… Then added more to make them pop, but… I screwed up and put the wrong color on the right ones… But all in all, I still love the look! I just put the right color over the wrong one, which was over the right one! Ha ha ha!!)
The crease color is what I’d call a “seaweed” green- it’s a pretty muted green, with a blackened base which gives it incredible dimension. This would look lovely as an eyeliner also… Just sayin! I needed a hint of darker color, and boy did I get it!
The light color on my brow bone is a color I’ve had for a while, and I’ll name at a later date… Same with the blush! I’ve mixed said blush with an N.Y.C. lip gloss I have to make the color on my pucker. After about 3 coats of my Wet ‘n Wild MegaPlump mascara, I looked like I had falsies… Which is ok by me! So yeah… This is the look I’m sporting today. Oh yes- and don’t forget about the swipe of silver glitter liner on my lower lid and out to underneath the winged liner! The gel liner, by the way, is from e.l.f., fabulous, and black! I’ll be online more- I need to!! I’ve missed a lot, but on the same hand… I’ve totally needed the break I’ve taken. It’s nice! But I can’t wait to come up with more looks, tutorials, reviews, etc.
The jewelry I have on I’ve had for some time, and were gifts to me. On the sterling silver chain I wear a sterling sparrow given to me by my Mom, and a Phantom Quartz. A strand of freshwater pearls and another “floating” necklace made of amethyst and freshwater pearls are also worn. My earrings are sterling silver and CZ stones.
